Hey guys! So I have some new and exciting news for you! Japesland Sheets’ saxophone transcriptions are now available on the anime sheet music super-site, Ichigo’s Sheet Music! Ichigo’s is a wonderful resource for people desiring sheet music from anime and video games on a range of instruments, and because of its size and its array of volunteer transcribers, they’re constantly adding more to the their library. Check it out!
Unfortunately, this exciting news comes with some sadder information attached. In fact, the very reason I reached out to Ichigo’s in order to have my collection hosted is because Japesland Sheets will soon be discontinued. Due to massive life changes, I no longer have the time nor the setup to continue transcribing music like I have in the past. So here in the next few weeks, expect to see the sheet music hosting pages on this site to disappear, with a prompt for people to begin looking at Ichigo’s for saxophone transcriptions.
Don’t worry, my YouTube channel isn’t going anywhere! While I can’t guarantee my next update, and my uploads may be pretty sporadic from now on, I’ve grown to love and feel attached to the community that has followed me on YouTube. Also, the staff at Ichigo’s were nice enough to include links to my YouTube videos on the sheets I donated!
So thanks to everyone who has supported Japesland Sheets over the years. I hope you’ll be able to continue to enjoy playing with the music over at Ichigo’s!
Long time no see, everyone! Sorry I’ve been so absent, lately… I started up this blog and my YouTube as a side project when I used to have plenty of free time for my hobbies, but that free time has been disappearing lately. Unfortunate as it is, life goes on.
In any case, by popular demand I have added the opening theme from Tokyo Ghoul, Unravel. Check it out on the anime sheets page.
By less popular demand (in fact nobody has asked for it) I’ve added an older, yet still popular, Japanese pop song entitled Ii Hi Tabidachi to the other sheets page.
(By the way, I did record both of these, but I just couldn’t get the sound to my satisfaction, so I ended up not creating YouTube videos for them… sorry!)
Sorry for the radio silence! It’s been a crazy couple of months, and the next few months don’t appear to be any less crazy. The Key Anthology took much of the time I had dedicated to saxophone covers, so I haven’t had a chance to do any updates for a while. It is currently spring break, so I’ve had a LITTLE bit a breathing room, so I decided to work on one of my favorite songs this season: Flyers from Death Parade.
I’ve uploaded the sheets, which you can check out here: https://japeslandsheets.wordpress.com/sheet-music-anime/
Unfortunately, the cover I recorded did not turn out too well, and I’m not sure if I will have a chance to re-record it, so I only have the sheet music to give you this time around (sorry!).
Thanks for reading!

My secret project is not so secret anymore!
I have been hard at work, scrounging for MIDIs, sampling and editing them meticulously, transcribing, recording, editing (that’s audio, images, and even a little bit of video), and just about anything else you can think of to put together the project shown in the below video. Check it out and let me know what you think!
Coming January 1, 2015, you will be able to listen to and download a full MP3 version of The KEY Anthology Saxophone Collection by yours truly here on my YouTube channel and my blogs, Japesland.Wordpress.com and JapeslandSheets.Wordpress.com.
The album includes 17 tracks encoded as MP3s at 192kbps spanning 6 of Key’s most famous visual novels (Kanon, Air, Clannad, Planetarian, Little Busters!, and Rewrite). It will also include sheet music and album art, along with some other potential goodies (still working this out!).
Finally put up a new video!
As usual, the sheet music is available at the sheet music page.
Well the holidays have finally passed, and with it the holiday break that I got from my university. In just a few days I will be heading back to school, which means I will not have my saxophone with me for a few months. Consequently, I will not be able to upload any new YouTube covers (most likely) until summer, when I am back home with my saxophone and my studio setup again. This does NOT mean that I will not be uploading new sheet music, but my transcriptions are likely to slow down as well (though be sure to stay posted with the blog just in case!).
Knowing that this would happen, I tried to pump out as many covers as I could over break, so I decided to bring them all together in one post as a review of the past month or so! So, below you will see all of the YouTube covers I worked on and uploaded. As always, the sheet music for each of these is provided on the sheet music page.
I have two more sheets for you saxophone players out there! The Sheet Music page has already been updated with these, as well as all of my past transcriptions.
Hakkin Disco – From Nisemonogatari
Undine – From Aria: The Animation
Now, as far as YouTube goes, I have not abandoned my channel! I currently have four videos in the works (representing the four sheets I recently uploaded). I am experimenting with a new video format, as I no longer have a camera, so I hope you like what I have come up with!
Hurray, the first update in months! Now that break has started, I have begun some transcriptions/arrangements in my spare time. So far I have completed two of my favorite anime OPs! Without further ado, here they are:
Groovin’ Magic – From Gunbuster 2: Diebuster
Let Me Be With You – From Chobits
The sheets can be found on the Sheet Music page.
